Forest School on Wednesday started with lessons on using tools safely ahead of taking the bow saw to cut a slice of wood which they could then create a design in using a hammer and nails. Year 4 were very impressive with their knowledge and recall of tool names and how to use them safely and it was lovely to see their level of independence when they were using the tools making lovely designs showcasing perseverance to finish them to a high standard.

In the afternoon Year 2 were equally successful and all managed to hammer the nails in independently by the time they had finished their design. It’s always hard to learn new skills and we were very proud of their resilience. As well as the tool work there was the usual games, playing and tree climbing
