Challenge Day
Back
Yesterday's Challenge Day was centred around our school value of 'Aspiring', and pupils across the school enjoyed a day full of creativity, teamwork and big thinking about the future.
In writing, children explored The Door to the Future - using magical and imaginative prompts to inspire stories, descriptions and discussions about what might lie beyond the mysterious doorway. There was some fantastic creativity on display, with pupils producing thoughtful and imaginative pieces of writing.
Maths investigations took a practical and collaborative approach. Some classes became “human data” as they explored graphs and statistics together, while others tackled shape-based investigations that encouraged reasoning, problem solving and teamwork. It was wonderful to see children discussing their ideas so confidently and learning through exploration.
Children also spent time in their house teams learning more about what it means to be Aspiring. Through discussions and activities, pupils reflected on goals, ambitions and the importance of believing in themselves and encouraging others to achieve their best.
One of the loveliest parts of the day was our reading buddy sessions, where older and younger pupils shared stories together. The kindness, patience and encouragement shown by the older children made us incredibly proud and created such a warm atmosphere around the school.
Challenge Days continue to be a fantastic opportunity for pupils to learn in different ways, work with different people and celebrate our school values together.
